    We camped out on the varsity baseball diamond after watching the sunset at Portuguese Beach;

    fruitless hip movements punctuated the maroon I felt beneath me

    I should have been grapevine green, hopeful but still a little scared of newness; how novel

    I thought (un)ceremoniously stripping in a tent on campus was

    It was as cold as the cutoff

    Too paranoid to fall asleep there; I was

    afraid of the morning noises or how much I lied

    Sorry that I’m sorry when you should be sorry.
